Startek Offers Mental Health Support App to New Mothers Through the Partnerships with Curio Digital Therapeiutics

Curio Digital Therapeutics has partnered with Global customer experience solutions provider Startek to provide postpartum mental health support to its US-based associates. The partnership aims to foster wellbeing for new mothers, who often suffer from depression in the months following childbirth. Startek will offer MamaLift, through the Curio platform, which offers digitized therapy content through augmented reality, meditations, and interactive exercises

Cancer Alliances and Careology join forces for a prehabilitation cancer care programme

The East of England Cancer Alliance has funded a new prehabilitation cancer care programme, in partnership with James Paget Hospital, Macmillan Cancer Support and Careology. The programme offers free exercise, advice on diet and nutrition, smoking or alcohol cessation support, and mental wellbeing sessions to all newly-diagnosed cancer patients to prepare them for treatment and help improve their quality of life. Colorectal cancer patients will initially take part in the programme at James Paget as well as lung, melanoma and upper gastrointestinal patients at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

Telehealth company Amwell (NYSE: AMWL) saw subscription revenue pop after adding behavioral health provider SilverCloud and health automation tool Conversa Health to its platform. Amwell acquired SilverCloud for $226.2 million and paid $118.6 million for Conversa in deals that closed in August 2021. SilverCloud, Conversa and other services are a part of the Converge platform, the amalgamation of services and tech architecture that acts as the backbone of Amwell’s services.

Mental health linked to productivity but managers not confident to support staff, research shows

SilverCloud’s new Making Mental Health Top of the Agenda report, conducted with 1,000 employees and 500 directors, showed that only one third (31 per cent) of organisations have boosted their wellbeing spend since the pandemic began. This was despite half of workers feeling overwhelmed (50 per cent), burnt out (48 per cent) and depressed (35 per cent) over the past six months. Commenting on the reasons behind this gap in mental health offering, Dannielle Haig, business psychologist at DH Coaching and Consulting, said that the idea of taking care of employees’ mental wellbeing is relatively new.

VA awards OxfordVR $500,000 in Mission Daybreak grand challenge to reduce Veteran suicides

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has named OxfordVR as a winner in Mission Daybreak — a $20 million challenge designed to help VA develop new suicide prevention strategies for Veterans. As a third-place award winner, OxfordVR, which recently came under the BehaVR umbrella, will receive $500,000 to further support the company's work in developing virtual reality (VR) solutions to address mental and behavioral health challenges in support of Veterans.
