Better Therapeutics Completes Exploratory Trial for Fatty Liver Disease and Announces Positive Topline Results

Better Therapeutics today announced positive results of the first-ever study evaluating the feasibility of using a prescription digital therapeutic to reduce liver fat and improve liver disease biomarkers in Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) and Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH). The study included a cohort of 22 patients with NAFLD and NASH and used Magnetic Resonance Imaging - Proton Density Fat Fraction (MRI-PDFF) scans, a validated proxy for liver biopsies, to monitor changes in liver fat. The study relied on Better Therapeutics’ CBT platform, which has been developed with the intention of helping patients with cardiometabolic diseases – including NASH and NAFLD – access a tailored treatment that leverages CBT techniques to address underlying causes of these diseases and help them make sustainable behavioral changes.

Pear Therapeutics Presents Real-World Clinical Data Assessing Engagement And Abstinence In Patients With Alcohol Use Disorders Using ReSET At AAAP

Pear Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: PEAR), the leader in developing and commercializing software-based medicines called prescription digital therapeutics (PDTs), today announced data from a real-world analysis of engagement, substance use, and retention patterns in patients diagnosed with substance use disorder who use alcohol and were treated with reSET. The real-world observational study evaluated 548 patients with alcohol-related disorders from 28 states who were treated with reSET over 12 weeks. The primary endpoint was engagement with reSET (lessons completed) throughout the prescription, and activity was also assessed as any use of reSET during a given week. Highlights presented include. New Research Published in Peer Reviewed Journal Demonstrating Dario's Musculoskeletal Solution Reduces Back Pain

Omada Program Achieves Key Results with Underserved Populations

A recent study shows the Omada Diabetes Prevention program can deliver meaningful engagement and clinical outcomes for underserved populations. The trial, published in Preventing Chronic Disease, tracked 227 individuals who enrolled in Omada’s adapted Program for Underserved Populations. Participants in the study averaged more than four percent weight loss one year after beginning the program. The program also achieved strong engagement, with more than half of participants completing the DPP program.

Akili Announces Publication of AKL-T01 ADHD Pivotal Study Results in the Lancet Digital Health

Akili Interactive today announced that results from the STARS-ADHD trial of AKL-T01, a digital therapeutic designed to improve attention in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) were published in The Lancet Digital Health journal. In the study of 348 children diagnosed with ADHD, AKL-T01 showed improvements across a wide range of attention measures, from objective measures of attention to how attention impacted daily life and functioning. AKL-T01 showed a statistically significant improvement compared to an educational-style video game control on the predefined primary endpoint, a change in the Attention Performance Index (API) of the Test of Variables of Attention (TOVA®).

Helping low-income students take control of asthma: A Q&A with Dr. Theresa

Children with asthma in low-income areas experience significantly greater healthcare utilization than children in high-income areas. Dr. Theresa Guilbert, a pediatric pulmonologist and director of the Asthma Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, works closely on this issue. She and her team recently completed a first-of-its-kind study, which combined telehealth, in-person visits and Propeller’s digital health platform to help economically disadvantaged students in Cincinnati take control of their asthma. Students received Propeller sensors for their inhalers and used our smartphone app to manage their medication regimen. The study’s outcomes are promising. In six months, the students improved their controller medication adherence by up to 46% and experienced no emergency department visits or hospitalizations — a significant improvement over baseline.

Better Therapeutics to Present Phase 2 Data in Type 2 Diabetes at Endocrine 2020

Better Therapeutics, a developer of prescription digital therapeutics for the treatment of cardiometabolic diseases, today announced an upcoming poster presentation at the Endocrine 2020 conference. The presentation will include data from a pilot study of Better’s software-only prescription digital therapeutic in patients with type 2 diabetes. A study abstract of preliminary results has been included in the conference guide, and will be published in the Journal of the Endocrine Society and on the Better Therapeutics website later this month. Highlights of the pilot study include: Mean reduction in fasting blood glucose of 21.9 mg/dL (approximately -1.0% HbA1c) over an average of 73 days between baseline and ending values. Next, the company will conduct an open-label, multi-site, randomized, controlled, parallel-group trial of its digital therapeutic for treating type 2 diabetes and submit the results as the basis of its premarket submission to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
