Saperstein began his career in managed care in 1992 and joined MetroPlus Health Plan in 1995 initially as Chief Medical Officer and then as President and CEO from 2006 until 2019. MetroPlus Health Plan, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the New York City Health + Hospitals is a managed care organization that, under Saperstein’s leadership grew from 40,000 members to over 500,000 members with an estimated 32,000 participating providers.
Brigther, developer of Actiste digital diabetes management solutions and devices, has acquired all shares in the digital elderly care and remote monitoring company Camanio Care AB, in accordance with the previously announced share transfer agreement between Brighter and Camanio Care AB (publ) ("Camanio Care") on September 29, 2019. The Camanio operations will be completely independent in the form of a separate subsidiary with its own management and board, while Brighter will continue to focus on selling the Actiste service and developing new application areas.

Third-quarter worldwide sales of $8.1 billion increased 5.5 percent on a reported basis and 7.6 percent on an organic basis. In Diabetes Care, sales increased 29.6 percent on a reported basis and 33.1 percent on an organic basis in the third quarter. Sales growth in the quarter was led by FreeStyle Libre, Abbott's revolutionary continuous glucose monitoring system, with worldwide sales of $496 million, an increase of 63.1 percent on a reported basis and 67.6 percent on an organic basis versus the prior year.
Medtronic plc (NYSE:MDT) today announced that Sean Salmon, previously Senior Vice President (SVP) and President, Coronary and Structural Heart (CSH) within the Cardiac and Vascular Group of Medtronic, has been named Executive Vice President (EVP) and Group President of Medtronic Diabetes, effective today.
