Strategic Partnership Enables Physicians to Conduct Clinical Research and Offer New Clinical Therapies to their Patients

Allscripts (NASDAQ:MDRX) has partnered with Elligo Health Research to assist clinicians to conduct clinical trial studies in their own clinics. Through the Allscripts / Elligo partnership, clinical trials managed by Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) will be available, bringing new treatments to patients across major therapeutic areas. Allscripts physicians will have access to clinical trials across several therapeutic areas, including Gastroenterology, Neurology, Pain, Urology, Pulmonology, Oncology and Women's Health, some of the key areas of focus for CROs.

Merck subsidiary StayWell acquires app maker MedHelp for undisclosed sum

Yardley, Pennsylvania-based StayWell announced today that it has acquired the mobile health portion of Silicon Valley-based MedHelp, which includes several consumer-facing mobile health apps. These include the diabetes-focused Sugar Sense and My Diet Diary, as well as women’s health apps My Cycles and I’m Expecting. StayWell has been majority-owned by Healthcare Services & Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of global pharmaceutical giant Merck. The company offers employer-specific solutions related to several medical specialties, and has services within 85 percent of US hospitals and health systems.
