Goodlifeme AB, a Swedish public limited company which has developed a gamified health-behavior change platform, rasied $1.5m in funding. The round was led by Frumtak Ventures with participation from existing shareholders.
Dutch health tech firm Aidence has raised €2.25 million in seed round from henQ, Northzone, and Health Innovations. Aidence develops AI-based imaging software for the healthcare industry for faster diagnosing of x-ray, MRI, and CT images. The company claims its computer-aided diagnostics software makes diagnoses cheaper and more accurate with "human-level accuracy" that will address the shortage of radiologists.
After winning a �99,000 Smart award from Innovate UK to work up their idea, Entia was awarded a further �139,000 through the Biomedical Catalyst to test its technology�s potential for monitoring cancer patients� response to chemotherapy. That support from Innovate UK also gave Entia the credibility to secure �1 million in private funding and, more recently, venture capital financing led by Sussex Place Ventures. The company�s technology incorporates a range of optical and image analysis techniques to perform a blood count from a pinprick within 60 seconds. In a number of the company�s products, the reading is sent to the cloud so it can be directly uploaded into patient records and accessed by physicians.
Insurtech Europe, Plug and Play's Insurtech platform based in Munich, Germany, announced today the 18 startups have been selected for its second batch. One of the startups, Fosanis, supports cancer patients coping with their mental and medical challenges through their digital Mika App.

Oxford-based Optellum, which offers AI software for early lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, has just raised £1 million from Luminous Ventures, as part of a seed follow-on round of £3.25 million. London-based Luminous Ventures’ investment is part of a round that also includes IQ Capital, St. John's College, Oxford and the family office of Sir Martin & Lady Audrey Wood.
Vine Health, a London, UK-based provider of an app that helps cancer patients manage and understand their treatment and lifestyle, raised �1.2m in seed funding. The round was led by Playfair Capital, with participation from Entrepreneur First, Ascension Ventures and Tiny VC, as well as a number of angel investors including Simon and Michael Blakey and Pam Garside. The company will use the funds to develop its platform and make key hires at its headquarters.
Novator, Björgólf Thor Björgólfsson's investment company, and related investors have completed a one hundred million ISK injection into the Icelandic health technology company SidekickHealth, but the investor group has contributed hundreds of millions to the company since its inception. SidekickHealth has one foot in the door of the global pharmaceutical industry after successfully partnering with two of the world's five largest pharmaceutical companies. A second and larger capital increase is planned for the end of the year.
Wefight has just raised €1.8 million to accelerate the development of its virtual companion technology, which combats loneliness in patients with chronic diseases. The funds secured through the EIT Health network were provided by Investir&+, Angels Santé, Business Angels des Grandes Écoles, and MELIES Business Angels.
