Massachusetts General Hospital to Co-Develop VR Digital Therapeutic for Stem Cell Patients

Massachusetts General Hospital ("MGH") announced a research agreement with Rocket VR Health, an emerging digital therapeutics company developing clinically validated virtual reality therapies that enhance the quality of life of cancer patients, their families and their caregivers. The research will study the effects of daily Virtual Reality Therapy's effect on patients during their entire hospital stay. As part of the agreement, Rocket VR Health will leverage its virtual reality therapy platform to co-develop a VR digital therapeutic solution based on population-specific well-researched care interventions created by Massachusetts General Hospital.

OxfordVR Technology a World First Success in Automating Psychological Therapy Using Virtual Reality (VR)

Reulay Inc Announces Results From Study That Highlights the Effects of Reulay’s Digital Video and VR Platform for the Alleviation of Anxiety, Emotional Distress, and Distraction

Reulay, a research-backed mental health platform using AI to match anxiety states to brain-based interventions, today announced data that further underscores the effectiveness of Reulay’s digital video & VR therapeutics. The purpose of this pilot study was to evaluate the safety and use of a nature-based virtual reality (VR) experience among health care providers (HCP) during a pandemic. Twenty-four frontline HCP participated in this crossover pilot where the viewing order of the experiences were randomized. The study results showed that 96% of participants felt relaxed after seeing the imagery, and with respect to anxiety (as measured by the STAI Y1), the VR "Walk in the Woods" had the greatest reduction from pre to post followed by VR "Forest of Focus"

Study: VR therapeutic reduces pain intensity long term, compared with sham app

The study was sponsored by AppliedVR and used its RelieVRx system, formerly known as EaseVRx, to assess its long-term effectiveness for people with chronic lower-back pain (CLBP). It followed up on earlier research that analyzed the immersive eight-week program, compared with a 2D sham experience immediately after treatment. Meanwhile, 38% of the RelieVRx cohort achieved substantial clinical meaningfulness, while only 13.2% of the sham group did.

American VR digital therapeutic company MyndVR and European company Oroi announced a strategic partnership to expand MyndVR's catalog of cognitive, physical and occupational therapies using Oroi content. Oroi is a VR content platform aimed at improving the wellbeing and cognitive stimulation of seniors. Curebase teams up with AppliedVR on pain treatment

BehaVR launches VR-enabled stress management programme for clinicians

Virtual reality (VR) digital wellness company BehaVR announced Monday that it is working with healthcare organisations to introduce CenteredVR, a VR-enabled mindfulness and stress management programme, to clinicians and other workers. The company cited early data suggesting that CenteredVR, which was co-developed with Johns Hopkins University, decreased stress levels by 34% on average. According to BehaVR, the programme gradually guides users through a "soothing, immersive VR experience," helping alleviate stress through educational elements and mindfulness practices. It added that the programme, which runs on Pico Interactive's G2 4K S headsets, helps users to "optimise their stress responses, becoming less reactive and more resilient to stressors."
