In this trial, GAIA combined its digital therapeutic software platform with smart sensors, including a sensorized shirt that collects biomedical data (e.g., respiration dynamics, electrocardiogram, body movement) and a predictive algorithm that forecasts the development of individual patients’ depressive symptoms. In the U.S., more than 1.6 million cases of cancer are diagnosed every year, and about 10% of those patients experience spinal metastasis - when disease spreads from other places in the body to the spine. One of the biggest clinical concerns patients face is the risk of spinal fractures due to these tumors, which can lead to severe pain and spinal instability.
