COPD Rehabilitation App Improves At-Home Outcomes Following Inpatient Rehabilitation

In the study conducted by physicians at Zurich Rehabilitation Centers in Switzerland and the University of Marburg in Germany patients were tracked for 6 months following their release from rehabilitation. Half of the 60 patients were asked to use Kaia Health’s COPD app to assist their rehabilitation. The data showed patients who used the app had increased physical activity compared to the control group. It also showed that app users had improved scores on the COPD Assessment Test, in which patients rate symptoms such as coughing, congestion, and chest tightness.

Swiss multicentre study to investigate the effect of ePRO-based model of care on early detection and management of immune-related adverse events

Kaiku Health is taking part in a study assessing the use of an electronic Patient-Reported Outcome (ePRO)-based model of care to evaluate onset of symptomatic immune-related adverse events in cancer patients and their detection by healthcare providers. This phase-II randomised controlled trial, comparing the ePRO-based model of care to the current standard model of care, is conducted at the Geneva University Hospitals and Lausanne University Hospital, Switzerland.

Study: VR therapeutic reduces pain intensity long term, compared with sham app

The study was sponsored by AppliedVR and used its RelieVRx system, formerly known as EaseVRx, to assess its long-term effectiveness for people with chronic lower-back pain (CLBP). It followed up on earlier research that analyzed the immersive eight-week program, compared with a 2D sham experience immediately after treatment. Meanwhile, 38% of the RelieVRx cohort achieved substantial clinical meaningfulness, while only 13.2% of the sham group did.
