Walgreens Boots Alliance and Verily Announce Strategic Partnership to Innovate on New Solutions to Improve Health Outcomes

Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. (Nasdaq: WBA) and Verily, an Alphabet company, today announced they will collaborate on multiple projects under a broad agreement. The companies are developing a medication adherence pilot project, and Walgreens together with Onduo, Verily’s joint venture with Sanofi, will also launch a virtual diabetes solution to Walgreens employees and family members with Type 2 diabetes through the Walgreens employee health plan.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield Companies Partner with Onduo on Three State Pilot Programs to Address Diabetes

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) has partnered with Onduo by Verily (an Alphabet Company) and Sanofi, on a pilot program that will provide eligible members with access to personalized and convenient diabetes care. The pilot is designed to measure type 2 diabetes outcomes including those relating to clinical improvement, cost and member experience. Pilots will begin in the first quarter of 2018 in Arkansas, Georgia and South Carolina with select Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) members who are eligible.

Highmark Health launches diabetes management program with Onduo by Verily

Highmark Health is launching Well360 Diabetes Management, a virtual care program powered by Onduo, a Verily company, for adults with type 2 diabetes. Once enrolled, members will be assigned a care coordinator to develop a personalized management plan and help with medication compliance, healthy eating, exercising and more. Other Onduo features include a virtual health clinic with access to endocrinologists and other clinicians, remote prescriptions, and care coordination with primary care physicians.

Gothaer Bears the Costs for mySugr

The digital health company mySugr announces a new cooperation agreement with a German health insurance provider Gothaer. After Versicherungskammer Bayern, Union Krankenversicherung and Barmenia Krankenversicherung, the costs for the mySugr package will now also be reduced by up to 100 percent for customers of Gothaer Krankenversicherung AG reimbursed as part of their insurance coverage.
