Virta Health, a San Francisco, CA-based company launched to reverse type 2 diabetes, raised $37m in funding. Backers included Venrock, Allen & Company, Ev Williams’ Obvious Ventures, Redmile Group, and PayPal and Affirm founder Max Levchin’s Scifi VC.

Mental health AI platform, Woebot lands $8M in funding

Woebot Labs, a mental health artificial intelligence platform, just landed $8 million in Series A funding with New Enterprise Associates leading and Andrew Ng’s AI Fund participating. The new app, which launched in February, is a cross between a therapist and a friend. Woebot customers can use the messaging function on the app—just like using Google Hangouts or Apple's iMessage, but instead of a person at the other end of the messages, it's an artificial intelligence programmed to help users talk through their mental health using cognitive behavioral therapy principles.

SWORD Health Raises $8M in Series A Funding Round Led by Khosla Ventures to Redefine Physical Therapy and Musculoskeletal Care

SWORD Health, a tech-enabled physical therapy provider, has raised $8 million in a series A investment round led by Khosla Ventures and several other prominent angel investors. It will allow SWORD to focus on bringing its technology to more patients' homes and expand its footprint in the U.S. market. The investment will bring SWORD Health closer to its ultimate goal of cutting the costs of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in the U.S. by half. Sword Health Raises Additional $9M in Series A Funding

Sword Health, a NYC-based tech-enabled provider of musculoskeletal care, raised an additional $9m in Series A funding. The round addition, which brought total funding raised to date to $17m, was led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from Founders Fund, Green Innovations, Lachy Groom, Vesalius Biocapital and Faber Ventures. The additional capital will go towards increasing the company’s market presence, investing in distribution, partnerships, sales and marketing, and making strategic product, clinical and operational investments to improve member experience and outcomes.

Digital mental health company Meru snags $8.1M in Series A funds

Health-tech startup Fitterfly raises $3.1M Pre-Series A funding led by Fireside Ventures

Fitterfly, a Navi Mumbai-based health tech start-up specialising in Digital Therapeutics (DTx) and is founded and run by a team of Doctors, Engineers and Senior Nutritionists, has raised $3.1 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led led by Fireside Ventures. 9Unicorns — the accelerator fund of Venture Catalysts —Venture Catalysts and a clutch of angel investors from India, the US and Singapore, also participated in the current round. Funds will be used for improving the solution to deliver better patient outcomes at scale and impacting a large number of people by creating better awareness and reach. In June 2019, Fitterfly had raised a seed round of $1 million from HNIs, family and friends.

Digital Health company SilverCloud Health announced that it has raised $8.1 million in Series A funding. Venture capital firm B Capital Group - founded by Raj Ganguly and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin - led the investment round with significant participation from ACT Venture Capital and returning investors, Investec Ventures and AIB Seed Capital Fund managed by DBIC, NDRC and Enterprise Ireland.
