Abbott, a global healthcare leader, has partnered with key health-tech firms including BeatO, Sugar.fit, PharmEasy, GOQii, 1MG, Zyla Health, Healthifyme and Fitterfly to usher in a new era of holistic diabetes management care. Through these collaborations, Abbott aims to offer glucose monitoring solutions to 8 million people living with diabetes, of which approximately 6.5 million users can access through PharmEasy and 1MG. The company is focused on maintaining effective glucose level along with remote consultations, diabetes-specific coaching, and dietary plans.

VA and Virta Health partner in innovative approach to diabetes care

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced a partnership on May 13 with Virta Health to explore an innovative program focused on improving the health of persons with type 2 diabetes. In effect since March 22, the agreement will give 400 Veterans the opportunity to participate in the Virta Treatment, which can help individuals safely and sustainably achieve glycemic control while reducing use of medications. This diabetes care will be provided for up to one year at no cost to VA or Veteran participants.

Aidence and Heart&Lung partner for Greater Manchester cancer screening

Medtech firm Aidence and Heart&Lung Health (H&L), a specialist in chest and cardiac radiology reporting, have partnered to provide AI-powered, scan reporting for lung cancer screening in Tameside, Glossop, and North Manchester Clinical Commission Groups (CCGs). The collaboration between Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), Aidence, and H&L aims to ensure that no early-stage cancers are missed in the screening chest CT scans and that reporting follows the correct protocol and the highest clinical standards.

Aidence partners with the Netherlands Cancer Institute to leverage AI for lung cancer care

The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI), one of the world’s top 10 comprehensive cancer centres, is using artificial intelligence (AI) for lung nodule management. The AI solution, Veye Lung Nodules, is provided by MedTech scaleup Aidence. Veye Lung Nodules is a CE certified second or concurrent reader used in routine practice and lung cancer screening across Europe. At NKI, it will analyse over 15,000 chest CT scans per year, and the additional prior scans for approximately 80% of studies.
