Henlius and OncoHost partner to predict trial outcomes using machine learning

Hengenix Biotech (Henlius USA) has partnered with OncoHost to perform biomarker analysis and predict clinical benefit probability in the patients recruited as part of the Phase III clinical trial for serplulimab. OncoHost’s PROphet platform analyses blood samples using aptamer-based assays and applies machine learning models for patient selection, overall survival (OS)/ progression-free survival (PFS) prediction, mechanisms of action discovery, adverse events prediction and response prediction. The PROphet platform will analyse the patients’ biomarkers in the serplulimab Phase III trial (NCT05468489) to identify resistance patterns in the recruited patient population. The open-label Phase III trial compares the efficacy and safety of serplulimab and chemotherapy (carboplatin-etoposide) in combination with the standard of care, atezolizumab plus chemotherapy, in previously untreated US-based patients with Extensive-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer (ES-SCLC).

Flatiron Health today announced a new agreement to bring Flatiron Assist™ advanced cancer care insights to oncology care clinicians at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center (ACC). The collaboration between Flatiron Health and Penn Medicine will focus on further enabling clinicians at ACC to determine and promote site-preferred pathways and open clinical trials at the point of care alongside the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®). Access to evidence-based treatment recommendations will promote high levels of guideline-concordant care, while improving health equity and patient experiences and reducing unnecessary spending. The two organizations will also work together to optimize the usability and functionality of Flatiron Assist™. Flatiron Assist™ is an oncology-specific clinical decision support platform that prioritizes the latest evidence-based medicine, site-preferred pathways and clinical research at the point of care. The EHR-integrated platform incorporates NCCN Guidelines for the 26 most common cancers as well as site-preferred treatment pathways and relevant clinical trial opportunities for patients at the point of care.

HSE Shows Strong Mental Health Patient Outcomes Using Silvercloud® By Amwell® Digital Programmes

The Health Service Executive (HSE) shared a new report highlighting a key milestone in the technology partnership with SilverCloud® by Amwell®; more than 12,300 people have used the SilverCloud platform’s guided digital Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (iCBT) programmes, as of August 2023. The report, which follows November’s research report on the first 5,000 users to utilise the programmes, details the continued progress of the HSE partnership, and outlines the encouraging clinical success, uptake and effectiveness of the platform. 49% of users with clinical levels of depression showed clinically meaningful improvement and 59% of users with clinical levels of anxiety showed clinically meaningful improvement.

They will now have instant and, if needed, remote access to digital images of tissue samples instead of relying on physical glass slides reviewed in microscopes.
