Anthem Partners with Happify to Launch a New Digital Maternal Health Platform

Anthem and Happify Health are teaming up to help bridge the gap between the unique physical and mental health concerns women face. Anthem is collaborating with Happify Health to develop a Sequence focused on maternal health. Eligible members of Anthem’s affiliated health plans in select markets will have access to Happify Health’s online pregnancy community, where they can connect with mental health experts, obstetrics, and gynecology experts, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals, ask questions, and discuss their physical challenges, and develop meaningful connections with others dealing with similar health issues. Eligible members will also have access to Happify Health’s evidence-based digital therapeutics, including a new non-prescription digital therapeutic addressing mental health needs during pregnancy.

Highmark steps up coverage of prescription digital therapies including EndeavorRx from Akili

Highmark plans to expand insurance coverage for some prescription digital therapeutics cleared by the Food and Drug Administration, marking a major step forward for app makers in the market. Highmark, a provider-payer organization, is not the first payer to cover some prescription digital therapeutics, also called PDTs. The policy names eight products, including Akili Interactive’s EndeavorRx; Pear Therapeutics’ cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) apps for the treatment of opiate user disorder, substance use disorder and insomnia; a treatment for nightmares paired with the Apple Watch; apps targeting irritable bowel syndrome; and virtual reality-based treatments for chronic lower back pain and lazy eye.

Point32Health to Pilot Nerivio® Drug-Free Migraine Treatment Device

Theranica, a prescribed digital therapeutics company developing advanced digitally-connected neuromodulation devices for migraine and other pain conditions, announced today it has teamed up with Point32Health, the parent organization of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan, to conduct a 12-month pilot aimed at treating the organization's commercial members suffering from episodic and chronic migraine. Highmark expands access to Freespira’s DTx
