Rimidi Tackles Obesity Epidemic by Adding Specialized Disease View to its EHR-Integrated Platform

Brighter acquires Camanio AB and decides on a non-cash issue.

Brigther, developer of Actiste digital diabetes management solutions and devices, has acquired all shares in the digital elderly care and remote monitoring company Camanio Care AB, in accordance with the previously announced share transfer agreement between Brighter and Camanio Care AB (publ) ("Camanio Care") on September 29, 2019. The Camanio operations will be completely independent in the form of a separate subsidiary with its own management and board, while Brighter will continue to focus on selling the Actiste service and developing new application areas.

CVS Health to Embark on Pilot Program to Combat Diabetes in Medically Underserved Atlanta Neighborhoods

CVS Health announced today that it is embarking on a pilot project in the Tri-Cities area of Atlanta, Georgia, aimed at addressing diabetes in medically underserved communities with chronically high rates of this disease. In collaboration with Rimidi, Inc., a digital health company, and select community organizations, CVS Health will work to heighten awareness of diabetes and improve access to care among Tri-Cities area residents. Together with community organizations, Rimidi and CVS Health will enroll residents onto the Rimidi platform and engage them in the diabetes education and support services offered through the pilot.

Rimidi and Heritage Provider Network partnership expands to diabetes, congestive heart failure

Atlanta-based digital health company Rimidi has expanded its partnership with Heritage Provider Network to offer its digital disease management platform to people living with diabetes and congestive heart failure in the greater Palm Springs area. Desert Oasis Healthcare, which is part of Heritage Provider Network, will offer patients access to Rimidi's Diabetes + Me and CHF program to track and share health data with their care teams and get feedback and coaching.

Cedars-Sinai signs 3-year deal with Noteworth for on-demand patient-generated health data

Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles has partnered with Noteworth, a startup from the second cohort of its accelerator, to give physicians in several hospital departments new tools to monitor the health of their patients at home. The deal is a three-year engagement. Noteworth offers a novel platform for on-demand patient-generated health data. With the system, a physician can order PGHD for a patient from inside the electronic health record, and can select from a menu of vital signs such as blood pressure, blood glucose level and weight, as well as behavioral metrics like medication adherence, mood and activity.

IHS: About 4M patients will use remote patient monitoring technologies by 2020

Some 4 million patients globally will remotely monitor their health conditions by 2020, up from 664,000 patients in 2014, according to a new report from IHS Technology. About 120,300 patients were monitoring diabetes remotely in 2014 and this number of patients will grow at a CAGR of 35 percent to 712,800 in 2020.

Glooko, Joslin partner to develop diabetes management platform

Glooko, maker of diabetes management software and glucometer connector cables, is teaming up with the Joslin Diabetes Center to co-develop a "virtual Joslin" remote diabetes management platform to be offered to patients via private or government payors. Glooko and Joslin will work together on the platform, with Joslin providing educational content as well as ways to analyze and work with the data generated by patients' connected devices.
