Livongo signs deal with insurer Cambia Health Solutions

Digital chronic disease management company Livongo announced a partnership with nonprofit health insurance company Cambia Health Solutions. Cambia has six health plans in four states in the Pacific Northwest, covering 2 million members. The group is known for innovative thinking and strategic investing. Livongo will work with Cambia to roll out its existing diabetes management and hypertension management offerings to Cambia members, and to work with Cambia to create coaching and monitoring platforms for additional chronic conditions.

WellDoc adds hypertension, weight management to BlueStar; Standalone hypertension product due this year

WellDoc has expanded its BlueStar digital diabetes management platform to include a weight loss feature and a feature for those with both diabetes and hypertension. A standalone product for hypertension is also coming from the company later this year.

Livongo to launch voice interface, free medication program; announces Applied Health Signals framework

The new offerings include voice-enabled blood pressure monitoring, a new program that allows Livongo members to get medications for free via co-pay waivers and a new data partnership with medication adherence tech company Medisafe. The co-pay waivers for medications are being delivered as an incentive to help persuade patients to check their blood pressure or blood sugar regularly.

Cedars-Sinai signs 3-year deal with Noteworth for on-demand patient-generated health data

Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles has partnered with Noteworth, a startup from the second cohort of its accelerator, to give physicians in several hospital departments new tools to monitor the health of their patients at home. The deal is a three-year engagement. Noteworth offers a novel platform for on-demand patient-generated health data. With the system, a physician can order PGHD for a patient from inside the electronic health record, and can select from a menu of vital signs such as blood pressure, blood glucose level and weight, as well as behavioral metrics like medication adherence, mood and activity.

Noom adopts outcomes-based pricing for wellness, prevention programs
