New Data Presented at the 2022 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium Shows Early Detection using L-Dex and Intervention Improves Lymphedema Progression-Free Survival

ImpediMed Limited is pleased to announce a poster showing that breast cancer patients receiving early detection of lymphedema using ImpediMed's L-Dex® technology and intervention had statistically higher rates of lymphedema progression-free survival through three years compared to using tape measure was presented at the 2022 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium on December 6-10, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. The primary aim of the PREVENT Trial was published in January 2022 and demonstrated that patients with early detection using L-Dex and at-home intervention with compression garments resulted in a 7.9% rate of chronic lymphedema compared to a 19.2% rate of chronic lymphedema using tape measure.

Fujifilm to acquire Inspirata’s digital pathology business

Fujifilm announced today that it entered into an asset purchase agreement for the global digital pathology business of Inspirata. Upon completing the agreement, Fujifilm absorbs Inspirata’s Dynamyx digital pathology technology. “Acquiring Inspirata’s digital pathology business allows Fujifilm to be an even stronger healthcare partner – bridging a technological gap between pathology, radiology and oncology to facilitate a more collaborative approach to care delivery across the enterprise,” said Teiichi Goto, president and CEO, representative director, Fujifilm.

Technology use is increasing in favor among women. Effect and feasibility of gamification interventions for improving physical activity and health-related outcomes in cancer survivors: an early systematic review and meta-analysis

Despite the well-documented advantages of regular physical activity (PA), patients with cancer show suboptimal participation. By using game design elements, gamification could be used to motivate individuals to engage in PA. There are, however, inconsistent findings regarding the impact of gamification interventions on cancer survivors’ PA and health-related outcomes, according to the literature. The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness and feasibility of gamification interventions for improving physical activity (PA) and health-related outcomes among cancer survivors.

Two leading university hospitals implement Kaiku Health in Central Europe

Kaiku Health is strengthening its foothold in Central Europe as the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) in Switzerland and University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein Lübeck in Germany will implement Kaiku Health in the symptom management and patient-reported outcome monitoring of their cancer patients. Kaiku Health was piloted at the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) in 2019.
