FDA clears Intuitive, Siemens Healthineers imaging integration for robotic bronchoscopy

Intuitive (Nasdaq:ISRG) announced that the FDA cleared an integration of imaging technology with the Ion robot-assisted bronchoscopy system. The integration covers a mobile cone-beam CT (CBCT) imaging technology, developed by Siemens Healthineers, called Cios Spin. The integration of Ion with Siemens’ imaging technology could improve the accuracy of biopsy procedures, aiding in the diagnosis of lung cancer, the company said, through the enhancement of a physician’s ability to provide minimally invasive lung biopsy with Ion and potentially give patients answer sooner.

RefleXion, Mirada ink licensing deal on personalized cancer treatment

RefleXion Medical announced today that it entered into a non-exclusive, worldwide licensing agreement with Mirada Medical. The agreement allows for the integration of Mirada’s RegEngine image registration algorithms into the RefleXion X1 treatment planning software, aligning patient anatomy between different imaging modalities or between radiotherapy treatments.

Effectiveness of psychoeducation intervention among women with gynecological cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Psychoeducation interventions have been suggested to improve sexual functioning and quality of life. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of the psychoeducation intervention on quality of life, sexual function, and psychological outcomes; and to identify the critical components of psychoeducation intervention for women with gynecological cancer. The results show that incorporating lecture-based, practical skills, discussion, and counseling through an online format and involving significant others are beneficial for improving the quality of life and sexual functioning among women with gynecological cancer.
